Hi,

I was trying to find the Network password on my PC, running on XP. I want to link my laptop to PC for sharing printer. During this whole process I received the following error message and looking for help to resolve the matter. Suggest me with possible solutions.

Hi Charles,

One of the possible reasons why you can’t create the homegroup is because of the Security Software installed to the other computer. You will have to play around with your Security Software to allow sharing/access from or to another computer. I have seen a lot of resolutions but for now you may try to work on with your Security Software. If you found out that your Security Software is not part of the issue then you may try this:

Look for this Path: windowsserviceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataRoamingPeerNetworking

and delete idstore.sst then try again. 

This actually applies to same version of windows but it worked for some who had this same issue as you have.
