I am using windows 7 ultimate.

From last few days,a check box opens that shows-your windows explorer is not working properly.

Then it restarts, but shows the MSG again after a while.

What should I do to solve this problem?

Hi,

1. Your system problem is due to corrupted or missing files in operating system to recover from this you have to do system file checker.

2. Go to start button click search box and type cmd you will get cmd.exe in results then right click on that file and choose run as administrator then it will asks for password if your admin enter details and click continue and in the command prompt type Sfc/scannow then click enter. After some time it will check for any corrupted or missing files and repairs them. If it asks to insert CD for repair files do it then problem solved.

Hope these shall helps.

Thanks.

Try to boot into safe mode with networking:

Go to Start/ Search and type CMD right click the CMD icon in the search result and Run As Administrator.

In the Command Prompt type chkdsk C:/R and press enter.

Than Type Y to run Check Disk at boot-up and manually reboot the computer.

The Check Disk utility will run at next boot-up and try and fix any errors

Hi

Following are maybe some reasons to stop working of Windows explorer:

          1. Some times the process locked or some other processes may be slowing down the system.

          2. Disk errors may kill the EXPLORER process.

          3. Installing security update MS06-015

Solution:

After boot how long you left it idle? Wait for 20 minutes and see if explorer loads.

  • Run a Check disk on all drives
  • Disk defragmentation must be scheduled
  • File Check

At the command prompt, type Sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.

  • Scan Disk
  • Scan the system with security software
  • Disable Third party services and tools
  • Check For Memory Problems
