Hi,

Nice question actually if they include it on the package then they don't get profit on it right?

Always remember that the one who created the anti virus is the on who created the software like Operating System. This is impossible that the Microsoft Windows will release an anti virus including on there package for free if you buy there Operating System. There where free but it's limited only. You should register once you finish the trial period and it won't work automatically.

I suggest you also try DEEP FREEZE if you want a free protection but comparing to anti virus it hassle to you sometime because you need to Unfreeze before you can save your files and it needs to be restarted once you save a file. You an also try a AVG anti virus if you want a free virus scanner this is better than not having 1 virus scanner.

If you have other IT question you can always free to post here.

Thanks,

This is a very good question to ask. Anyway, not every product that you buy will come fully packed with all that you require. Take it this way, when you import or buy a new car, it comes with a small radio or music system to actually show you that it is capable of supporting such. But when you need to install a bigger or powerful music system, you are at liberty to do so.

When you purchase and install Microsoft OS Products, what they provide is a simple antivirus/antispyware software called Windows Defender and a Firewall just to secure your computer after installing and then you have to purchase an antivirus for yourself. In a way they should be bundling their OS with an antivirus.

The only way I know when you install windows you get an antivirus is when you purchase a computer for instance Toshiba Laptops, most of them are bundled with a Windows XP recovery disk that either comes with McAfee or Norton but limited to 30 days trial period.
