My internet connection seems to have some protection Issue because for every device in which I use internet on, I have to log in afresh to the network from my browser after WiFi is connected without which I am denied access to my network, and the connection shows “limited access” error on the status bar. I am using Windows 8 if that will help.

Windows 8 randomly drops WiFi access

This is a very widely documented problem across the whole of web, but here is nothing to worry about.

First and foremost, make sure you have entered the correct password and then follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Right click on the icon in the icon for WiFi at the bottom of the taskbar.
  • Click on “troubleshoot problems”, so that windows 8 can take the default actions.
  • Retry at least 3-4 times, unless the troubleshoot process resets the “WiFi adapter”.

Microsoft Windows 8 was released with this massive bug and is still being fixed. In case that does not bear fruit, you can always resort to an update of the firmware of the router you are using, as the problem might reside in the router-windows compatibility, in many cases.
