Windows 8 Black Screen after Restart and Update

Hello experts, Yesterday, as I was going to bed I put off my Windows 8 computer by pressing "Update and Restart" instead of selecting the normal "Shut Down". Lo and behold, it took at least 25 minutes for Windows 8 to boot after the said action. And to add insult to injury, after waiting for the 30 minutes, it only showed me a Black Screen with a Mouse Pointer after logging in. Weird enough, I can access the Windows Task Manager, which can give me access to Command Prompt. I've tried "repair" my computer with the Windows 8 installation media that I created. I even tried reformatting my computer. How can I resolve this issue? Can anyone help me through this? Thanks.

This is somehow a little tricky as it takes trial and error to launch Windows 8 in recovery mode when there’s going a startup sequence. To solve this you need to past the BIOS splash screen, to do this hold down the shift key and also keep tapping the F8 key, it will take you to the recovery mode, it can take a few tries before you achieve that. When the recovery screen is displayed click the Troubleshoot button.

Then click Advanced Option which lies in Windows Startup Settings. Then next screen will ask you to restart your computer after that you will see the Advanced Boot Option Screen same as Windows XP, now choose Safe mode here, you should select Safe mode with command prompt.

When you logged in with Safe mode and the command shell is open type the code “scf /scannow” and press Enter. Now wait when it is done it will show that 100% complete. You can reboot your computer now and it should function normally.
