Not too much problem once the starter issue is solved and you accustomed with the new system, you shall find the Ultimate version easier to use for your day to day needs and efforts. As such the data may be stored in the same way for both of these. The matter is related to revenue of the company which presents such a version for startup. However you may use the ultimate one for use and present a living tool for the usage of the software. The help index and forums can be reviewed and self learnt for the purpose. This is a very stable usually seen in any desktops Operating System. Thanks.

I’m quite confused here whether you want to create a dual boot system with your Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition and Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition or you can’t really install Windows 7 Ultimate. If you want to make your computer to boot on 2 operating systems, I’m not sure if installing both Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems is such a good idea. I think they will have a conflict since they are both of the same version only differs in their editions.

If you successfully formatted your hard drive and planning on installing the other platform, Windows 7 Ultimate, I don’t see any reason why the installation will have a problem. If your hard drive is already clean without any traces of the previous operating system, there’s no reason for the new installation to fail. You cannot install Windows 7 Ultimate if you only deleted the files in the previous Windows 7 Starter. Even if you delete them, the operating system is still installed on the hidden sector of the drive. To successfully install it, do a full format on your hard drive then begin installing your Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hi Mythleil

Installing two Windows version is same system will definitely create lots of issues. I would suggest you to format and clean install the Windows 7 ultimate. Windows starter lacks many important features where as Windows 7 ultimate has many additional features. Bitlocker is one the most important and popular feature in Windows 7 ultimate which allows you to lock and encrypt your drive easily.
