This depends on the way the Mac user saves his document. There are different export alternatives when it comes to pages such as pdf, doc, rtf and txt. If the file is saved as a pages file there is a simple way to open it. Here are the steps to follow,

Step 1- Save the file to a specific destination (e.g.  Desktop)

Step 2- Rename it as a .zip folder

Step 3- Open the zip folder

Step 4- There will be a folder called “quicklook” and inside it there will be a file called “preview.pdf” and it can be opened through a pdf reader. To edit it, use a pdf editor.

Yes, of course, as long as the attached file or files are supported on the other computer. Not all Mac OS X applications also support Microsoft Windows and this is the same with Microsoft Windows. But even if this is the case, if you are using a Mac OS X computer save the file or document to a format that has an equivalent Microsoft Windows application.

One good example is the Microsoft Office for Mac. Since Microsoft Office supports both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X, you can therefore create a document using any of the programs included in the package that can be opened on both operating systems. For example, under Mac OS X create a file using Microsoft Office Word and then save it using the default format which will either bear the extension “.doc” or “.docx”.

After that compose an email and then attach the file to the message. Send the email to one of your friends that use Microsoft Windows on his computer. When your friend reads your email message and then download the attachment, he will be able to open the file using Microsoft Office Word. And I’m sure any user running Microsoft Windows is also using Microsoft Office.
