The recent survey results from one of the most visited pornographic website, Pornhub is very shocking to the Government of India. It is said that India is rated 5th among Worldwide and 4th among mobile users based on the number of daily visitors. Will Indian Government impose a complete ban on pornographic websites?
I guess that’s true. The Indian Government is planning to ban pornography websites and is currently asking several Internet Service Providers or ISPs to upgrade their infrastructure, make a blueprint, and execute a nationwide ban on porn-related websites. The Indian Government is planning to create a list of porn websites especially those that are into child pornography.
The list of porn-related websites will then be provided to Internet Service Providers so they can block them. The reason why the Indian Government asked ISPs to upgrade their infrastructure is to make sure that internet access doesn’t slow when Internet Service Providers begin blocking porn websites. Reports also said that the Indian Government will ask NGOs to build awareness and sensitizing the bad effects of porn.
ISPAI or Internet Service Providers Association of India, early this year, already notified the Supreme Court that they cannot ban adult websites without the support from the government.
