WiFi connection problem in Windows 8

I own a Toshiba satellite C55-A5310 PC and it just happens to drop the WiFi connection at will. I am not sure what caused the problem but as far as I can remember, I updated some files a couple of days ago. I tried updating again to counter the problem but nothing is working so far. The problem is not the router since it maintains a decent connection on my brother’s PC. Please help me solve the problem

It’s not clear as to what files have been updated. If your Wi-Fi is perfectly working before you updated the files, try reinstalling your Wi-Fi adapter. If your laptop is using an Intel Proset, try downloading Intel Proset 16.0.1.0.4.e64_wCAT. If your laptop is using an Atheros Wi-Fi adapter, try downloading Atheros Wireless LAN Driver.

If your computer is installed with a Realtek Wi-Fi adapter, try downloading Realtek Wireless LAN Driver. You can also download the driver yourself from the Toshiba website. Visit Toshiba Drivers and Software Support then enter your laptop’s model number in the field, Satellite C55-A5310, and then click GO. It will show you all the drivers available for your unit.

Just filter the results by selecting the categories on the left column. And then you can select which driver to download and to install on your machine. See image.
