Apple has not integrated Google map which is most efficient in finding directions and locations.

So am left wondering why since this the most basic application which all other manufacturers like Nokia and Samsung have.

why please elaborate?

Dear Brian Tonny,

Apple has recently introduced their Maps service. The new Apple devices like IPhone and IPad are now introduced in the market with Apples own maps service. So Apple is no way behind the industry leader like Samsung and Nokia in this category.

The only difference is that now Apple will be providing their service of maps which is almost identical of Google’s Map with similar satellite view. Moreover feature like real time traffic data and voice navigation distinguish out Apple Maps.

So dumping Google’s Maps will no way leave Apple in this category. But it’s a new category in which they have become rivals.

If you are wondering why Apple dumped Google Maps, it is not because they wanted to punish Google in any way. One reason for doing this is that Apple wanted turn-by-turn directions and for understandable reasons, Google didn’t want to license this feature to Apple because this will give them a viable advantage over Apple.

When it comes to iOS Map apps, the most requested feature by Apple customers is the turn-by-turn directions. If you will look at the accuracy between Google Maps and Apple’s Map app, there’s a lot of problem in Apple’s Map app in terms of accuracy.
