I don’t think you can share your license code for Microsoft Office with your friends because that’s not part of the agreement or the EULA [End User License Agreement]. If you purchase Microsoft Office from the Microsoft website, you are normally given an option to select as to how many computers will be allowed to use the application.

For example, if you selected and purchased the license code for 3 computers, this means you can install Microsoft Office on 3 different computer workstations using the same license key. Beyond that or if you’ll be installing it on a fourth computer then it is no longer possible. An error will prompt you during the registration or installation whichever comes first.

You will only be able to install it on a fourth computer if you will disconnect the machine from any network including the internet. In case you connect the computer to the internet and you use Microsoft Office Word or any Microsoft Office applications, it will detect an error in the license. In your case, if you purchased the license code for Microsoft Office 2010, check if how many computers are allowed to use the code.

If you shared the code with your friends and they were able to successfully install it on their computers but yours is not then that’s the problem. Ask one of your friends to uninstall it from his computer so you can install it on your computer. In case you didn’t share the code but it is still not working, try contacting Microsoft support and ask for a license code replacement. Also, tell them the problem.
