Hi,

Follow these steps to set your language in Microsoft Word:

  • Open your Microsoft Word 2007
  • In Review tab ribbon, Proofing options, click Set Language
  • Find and choose English (United States)
  • In the lower part of the dialog box there are two options
  • Check the box "Detect language automatically"
  • Click "Default" command button
  • Microsoft Office Word dialog box will appear
  • Choose "Yes", and then "Ok"
  • Close and Open again Microsoft Word to check if that works

Best regards,

Hi Adolfojeremiah,

It is possible that you have not installed the Language pack for your Microsoft Word. All software comes with a default language, so clicking that option informs you that your software does not have the capability to detect or be used for other language than US English. The Language pack can be used if you want to write using a different language so the spell check and formatting will also be enabled. You can set it to change automatically or highlight then change it to another language. If you want to experiment on this you can download the Language pack here.
