Why free sd corruption recovery tool does not work

I got a free SD corruption recovery tool that is supposed to recover the files (photos, videos, etc) on an SD card. However, it does not work. I am not sure if it is a scam, or just a virus thing (hopefully  not). They have an offer where I can get it for $50 to make sure that all types of files can be recovered. And I think, it's a marketing strategy. So, I want to know if you know of a similar tool for free which can recover any file type, specially Word documents. If you do, please tell me a little review on it.

Good day to you, yes its true theres a lot of offerings via online recovering your lost data, and theres also plenty of open source application you can download, but I want to share to you my experience, like yours about my corrupted 1TB drive, you know what ? I''ve recovered all of my data since from my first use.

My boss don't care how much the application will cost to us important thing is to recover back our data. We purchase Data Rescue 3 we never regret we purchase this tool not only recovery, you can also clone drives.
