Why Does Error 815 Popup Show On Desktop After Windows Boot?

Hello everyone,

My desktop unit is running on Vista Home Premium and I haven't had any connection problems until about 3 weeks ago. When I turn my computer on It shows 2 windows that say trying to dial up and connect (I use DSL) and then Error 815 window pops up and I never get connected to any site when I try to browse the Internet.

Any ideas for a why this problem occurred? What is Error 815 anyway?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

This error message automatically generated by windows vista and need to default your connection in broadband by a username and password (PPPoE). If your connection does not have any username and password then you will need to do disable it.

1. Go to Internet Explorer then click on Tools tab and go to Internet Option. Under Connections tab, click on option never dial a connection and then click on Apply.

2. If you are using a PPPoE connection, insert your username and password. If still error persists, check your LAN IP address and set it.

If you have a router you may need to insert your username and password to your router and follow the instruction no. 1.

Hope it will work.
