When an Anti-virus is installed in any computer, it always loads on to the computer memory, which means it uses some memory to perform some tasks by its own. This will  cause slow performance of that computer. It is a common problem.

For installing the Anti-virus you should require a huge memory space. Antivirus always protects your computer from threat or virus when you start the system. When any threat is seen in your computer the Antivirus starts an action on it. So there is an extra load effect on your computer memory.

For this you need to increase the memory of your computer, if you want get a good performance after installing the Antivirus.

Thank you.

Your computer is already affected by the virus.  This is why your computer's performance is slow and by the time you load the AVG anti virus in your computer, it will consume some of the total memory available of the computer. If your computer does not have a lot of memory or is low in memory already, this can also affect the performance of your computer.

You can check the memory capacity of  your computer and then if it is already low in memory, add another memory card or delete some files that are not important. You can check  the memory capacity  of your  computer by clicking the, my computer icon in your desktop, then click view system information from there you will see the memory capacity of your computer or right click local disk C to view how much remaining available in your hard disk.

Hello,

Your CPU routine  is sluggish as the Antivirus on your CPU has expired.  You are using the Antivirus to scan the entire CPU, all your database or software on your hard drive and to scan all of the statistics or the folder to guard it from any worms or perhaps spyware that they may contain.

So if the routine of your CPU is sluggish, it is because the Antivirus is trying to fix any problems.  You can chose to uninstall your Antivirus from your laptop or PC.
