Why can’t I use joystick only in vmware?

I use Windows Vista 64 bit as my host PC and a Windows XP 64 bit system as my virtual PC. 

I have a Logitech F710 joystick/gamepad that works pretty well on Vista. 

Why can't I use joystick only in VMware?

Please help.

Hello

If your joystick is working on Vista then it must work on XP too. Before using your joystick make sure you installed all drivers which are needed for proper work of your joystick.

Follow steps you followed when you plugged in your joystick for the first time using Vista.

Those steps are same for XP no matter if you are using VMware or not.
