Hey Spencer Reynoso,

You will not able to hear the sound, until you install the drivers for your sound card. You first have to install them. Right click on My computer and select properties. Click on Hardware Tab and Select Device Manager. Here you can see that there is a sign of interrogation against "Sound and Audio Drivers".

Right click on it and select Properties. After that Click on Update drivers. Insert your Sound Drivers CD in CD/DVD Rom and give the path to your CD where the drivers are. Click on Ok button. The computer will install the Drivers for sound.

Alternatively, you can use software like Driver Genius, Which automatically updates the driver according to your Windows.

Thanks.

Have you installed sound and video drivers after windows installation? If not then put your motherboard CD to drive and install video, audio drivers from there.

Usually when you reinstall your OS, the driver is included in the installation disk. But if you cannot hear any sounds, check on the Device Manager if there are any marks beside the Sound, Video and Game Controllers. If there is, then you will need to install the sound card driver. If you don't have the disk for your sound driver, go to your computer's manufacturer website and then search for the sound driver.

The reason why your computer doesn’t have sound after installing the operating system or Microsoft Windows is because the sound card driver is not yet installed. The driver must be installed to make the sound card work. This will then make sound or audio available on your computer.

If you are using a laptop or you have a branded desktop computer, try downloading the driver from the following manufacturers if you have one of these:

On the support page, enter your computer or laptop’s serial number or model number then click to search. When your product is located, click it to go to the download page. On the next screen, go to the driver download section or tab. Your operating system should be detected automatically. If a different operating system is displayed, click to change then select your correct operating system.

Download and install all available drivers and software for your computer especially the sound card driver.
