I downloaded the free version of Star Downloader on IE.  I launched the program and I'm quite disappointed that I could not resume interrupted downloads.  It also has trouble with some URLs when I use Internet Explorer 7 but works fine in Mozilla Firefox.  Anyone having the same Star Downloader internet explorer 7 URL error?

Hello Vanessa W Geiger,

There are some problems with a free version of Star Down loader so that's why you are facing the problem. The free version is also can not find mirror websites, so if you want to get better result please use the pay version of Star Down loader.

Thanks.

Hello,

There might be some problem with the free version because every feature of pro version won’t be present in free. If they would, their business would get less profit.

Download the latest version of Start Downloader. See if your problem solves or not.

Instead of Star Downloader, you can try other free download managers. Those are very cool and supports all the super features of a normal download manager.

1. Orbit Downloader: My best choice because of its awesome features. It supports pause/resume, metalink download and also the fastest free download manager.

2. Flashget: Another awesome tool. Its GUI is very user-friendly and also, has the ability to resume corrupted downloads.

That’s right. If you are using the free version, don’t expect much of the support because they are providing the application to users free of charge. Also, check if the downloader supports the web browser you are using. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 is a very old browser to use with a downloader. It would be better to upgrade it to version 8 or higher for better support.

Alternatively, you can use Free Download Manager. It is also a download manager similar to Star Downloader which supports resume function. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. I personally use it to download files when I have a problem with the link.

It is compatible with the most popular web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Safari. The Opera browser is not supported and I verify it personally. If you want to use Microsoft Internet Explorer, don’t use version 7 because it’s too old. Upgrade to a more recent version.
