Why am I having self extracting archive PGP error?

Hi there.  I'm trying to extract a 256 bit encrypted zipped file using WinZip 16.5 which supports OpenCL acceleration.  When I launch the WinZip application, PGP error pops up and says "the file might be corrupted".  What does that self extracting archive PGP error mean?  I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.  Thanks.

Hi there Mary,

If you are running the older version of PGP that might be a problem as there are some known issues with version 9 and Windows 7.

Also, there is always a possibility that your files are damaged.  To check that, first right click on the file and under the PGP menu choose Edit option. It will show you the files. If you can't see them, that means something's definitely wrong with the package.

Also, you can try exporting your key, importing it to another PGP desktop and then try opening the files on the other computer.
