Hi Experts,

While creating USB flash drive using Ubuntu 11.04 live CD I received an error message. I was directed step by step from the site

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick

On completion of 29% I received the error message. Have a look at the error message. “An uncaught exception was raised:”. If you have any idea regarding this problem please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Trish,

The error that you have encountered maybe because the USB that you are using may be corrupted or the Ubuntu live CD may have some tracks that had some issues. My advice would be to install Ubuntu on your disk then you try creating the live USB. If the problem still persists then you have a faulty USB drive.

Hope this helps.

Happy Computing.

Hi,

I presume that you were trying to create a live bootable USB drive. My guess is that ubuntu itself has some issues with the installation.

The other thing can be that you are trying to do that on a USB with an supported file system. Check to see that the USB drive is formatted to the correct file system eg. FAT32, depending on the installations requirement.

Try using a different USB to eliminate the problem.
