Hi,

I'm using Windows XP for three years now. I noticed that the features in Windows 7 are quite good as compared to XP but I also heard a lot of negative comments about Windows 7 like its not user friendly, spy ware is not good, etc. Can anyone give me a good comparison of the two OS? Thank you.

I use Windows XP in my desktop while Windows 7 on my laptop. Windows 7 is much accessible and is easy to use in data retrieval.

Here are some comparisons of the two OS:

FEATURES WINDOWS XP WINDOWS 7
Taskbar When viewing the tabs, you need to point and click the mouse before it appears. You can pin your commonly used icons on the taskbar and you can view the tabs just by pointing the mouse.
Data Retrieval

Some of the hidden files are not detected by the Search Window.

You need to type the exact file name before the result appears.

Hidden files are detected easily.

Even just a keyword of the file name is typed, results already appear.

Clicks It takes double clicks or more before a window opens. A single click is enough to open a window.
Desktop There are limited feature in customizing your desktop. Gadgets (calendar, clock, currency, weather, feed headlines, etc.) are available.
Power Saver Takes a couple of minutes to sleep/log off. Sleeps/log offs faster than the XP to extend the battery life.
