Dear Techyv Experts,

Yesterday I deleted few unwanted software and files from my system, after that sound is not working in my system. It seems like I have accidentally deleted the supporting files of sound. Please advise on where to get Windows XP Sound Manager free download to overcome this issue.

Thanks, Ana

Hello there Ana,

Your problem sounds like you've not installed your speaker or audio codec driver. But this is nothing to panic about because I can help you solve this. All you need to do is download and install this driver, you can easily download this on CNet's website which is hyperlinked here, install and make sure you reboot or restart your computer and it should work. Hope this helps you.

Dear Ana,

Don't worry. It's a simple problem. You can solve this problem very easily. There are two ways you can do it. I am strongly suggesting any of the two ways.

  • You can use Recovery Software.
  • You can set up Motherboard Driver again.

It’s better if you install just your Motherboard Driver. Install only the Audio Driver. I hope your problem will be solved. If it's not working, then you can use data recovery or reinstall Windows.

Thanks.
