Where can I get cleaning or washing file slack space freeware?
Heard that slack space is different from free space.
Can someone recommend a freeware for this?

Mechanic , adware, disk defrag and all that but i used this 1 time and it found like 1500 hidden things that went being used anymore , made my comp. a lot faster too

Removing or deleting is the only way to remove slack space. If you want to erase the drive then do the following.
1. Go to your disk manufacturer site and download their low level format tool.
2.Do a low level format on your disk then followed up by erasing it using kill disk, or eraser, or other software which has the same functions.

Slack space refers to files or file slack space. It is the leftover space or the extra space that exists on a hard drive when a file doesn’t need all the space allocated to it by the operating system. In computer forensics, the examination on the slack space is very important. A hard drive contains circular, spinning disks called “platters.”
Every platter on the hard drive is composed of logically defined spaces called “sectors.” By default, most of the operating systems are configured to support sectors to hold no more than 512 bytes of data. If a file that is 400 bytes in size is saved on the hard drive, the sector will have 112 bytes of extra space or what you call the slack space.
In a brand new hard drive, the slack space is blank but this changes as the computer gets used. Since you want to clean the slack space, you will be cleaning the free space of the hard drive. CCleaner can easily do that for you. Download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner then go to “Options” on the left pane and select “Settings.”
Here, under “Wipe Free Space drives” section at the bottom, check the drive you want to wipe free space.
After this, go to “Cleaner” on the left pane and start cleaning your hard drive. This will automatically clean the free space or the slack space of the selected drive or drives. If you want to convert CCleaner to Pro, download the codes and follow the instructions.
