Internet Explorer is one of the most common browsers in the world. It is popular to every windows operating system users. It is kept in windows as built in softwares. Try the latest Internet Explorer from Microsoft. Internet Explorer 9 is recommended. Because Internet Explorer 10 is being made in lab. You can download IE 9 from this link :

Or, whenever you install windows xp, default Internet Explorer will be installed.

With that problem you are having with your Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, it seems that you are not completely aware of the software’s system requirements or on what version of the operating system it is compatible with.

For the version 8 of Microsoft Internet Explorer, there is no problem running it on Windows XP but it is restricted to run on lower Service Packs of the operating system.

If your Windows XP is running on Service Pack 2 and or earlier Service Packs, you will not be able to use and install Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.

You will only be able to use this version of the web browser if you are running Windows XP Service Pack 3 or higher.

So, at this point, you should check if your operating system is running on which Service Pack so you can upgrade to a higher version if you happen to be using the older one.

Hi dear,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us on this Information Technology Website.

You Cannot update Your internet explorer directly from the website while it is opened.

First download your desired package from the web. Then close all Internet Explorer windows.

Then install the downloaded package. The system will be restarted and then you can use Internet Explorer 8.

Download link for Internet Explorer is here.

Requirement of Internet Explorer 8 is service pack 2, 32-bit Windows XP. To see the version info of the Internet Explorer you are using, follow below steps:

• Click “Start” button.
• Click on Internet Explorer to launch it.
• In Internet Explorer window, click ALT+H, or alternatively, Click Help on the menu bar.
• Select “ About Internet Explorer”
• A new window will popup and there you can see the version of Internet Explorer.

Note: If you are using IE8 (beta 1) with XP service pack 2, Windows update will not be offered to you to update to Windows Xp service pack 3 . Furthermore, IE9 will not run on Windows XP.
