Hello Experts,

If i am going to convert rtf in excel will it cause or create any error in a specific software? I just want to be sure before anything else and by the way I am using a Mac Operating system in my computer right now. Yes u can convert a rtf file into excel file without error.

Fistly convert your file as a txt, open in note pad and save as txt.

Mark delimiters in your text file which will act as seprate columns in excel.

Open Excel > Data > Open External Data > Open Data > Enter the txt file name > Type the delimiter

And its done.

Hi Mikee langford,

You could manually copy and paste the contents of your RTF file to Excel to keep the formatting and the alignment of rows and columns. Try doing the following:

1. Select all the text in the RTF and paste them to Notepad.

2. Separate columns using the Tab key and rows using the Enter key.

3. Select all text in Notepad and copy them to Excel.

There you go. Hope this helps.
