When are the updates for Moto G and Moto X devices expected?
When Google announced that there will be an upcoming update to their Android operating system, Motorola is among the major mobile phone manufacturers that will have the early taste of the newest update, Android 5.0 Lollipop. This latest Android version was announced on June 25, 2014 and will be available on November 12, 2014 as official OTA update [over-the-air].
The official OTA update will be rolled out to selected devices only that run distributions of Android serviced by Google. Motorola announced in a post they made on their site in October that they will be rolling out the Android Lollipop update on the following devices: Droid Maxx, Moto E, And Droid Mini, and Droid Ultra but unfortunately they excluded Moto X and Moto G.
So, if you have a Motorola Moto X or Motorola Moto G handset, the update will probably happen in a much later part. The updates will be launched in stages and users should wait for a system update message in their notifications to find out if their device is qualified for the update.
