We all know the well known fact that earlier this year Apple discontinued the iPhone 4S and iPod Classic. This iPhone 5C was launched last year along with iPhone 5S. It was the first Apple’s first iPhone with a plastic case with vivid color options. But did this iPhone sale meet Apple’s expectations? When is Apple planning to discontinue iPhone 5C? Why?
According to analysts, the Apple iPhone 5c could be a short-lived device. The Apple iPhone 5c Smartphone was launched on September 20, 2013. It is an extremely more colorful and a little bit cheaper kind of iPhone and announced together with its flagship iPhone 5s. During the launch date, Apple abruptly ran out of iPhone 5s units worldwide but the iPhone 5c models were plenty.
There is a report posted in Taiwan’s Industrial and Commercial Times saying that the production for the iPhone 5c model is expected to end by middle of next year, 2015. The company did not say anything about the reason why the model will be withdrawn but it is apparent that the declining interest is the likely explanation.
The iPhone 5c is a low-cost alternative to the ever popular iPhone 5s and basically, it is a plastic-dressed iPhone 5.
