I have not been using Windows since its very beginning but rather since XP came out. Machines were much slower 10 years ago comparing to what we have today. I wonder what was the requirement for running windows  95 and what was the best pc at that time?

Hi,

Requirements for running the Windows 95 are as follows:

  • 4 MB of memory (8 MB recommended)
  • Hard disk space for upgrading Windows 95: 35-40 MB.
  • Hard disk space required for installing Windows: 50-55 MB.
  • 3.5-inch high-density floppy disk drive
  • Minimum resolution should be VGA or higher 256-color SVGA resolution.

The  best PC’s at that time for the Windows 95 are as follows:

·         Xerox Alto.

·         Xerox Star.
