Virtual Mobile Infrastructure is touted as being the future of mobile computing. What exactly does the term mean? Will VMI succeed in providing secure access to mobile applications? Why is VMI being considered more user friendly than other mobile security related methods like app containerization? What are the drawbacks of this approach?
What is VMI and how it going to provide secure mobile access?
Virtual Mobile Infrastructure (VMI) has become crucial with rise in the enterprise mobility because VMI provides mainly security to mobile devices. This can be possible by key management system and increasing the entropy for random number generation. The main advantage of VMI is less power consumption which saves battery life. When we run multiple tasks on operating system of a mobile device, then VMI is very helpful because all the real processing will be done by VMI so that mobile device can simply perform basic operations. This is user friendly than other apps like containerization. The drawback of VMI is maintenance cost.
