Can you please help me regarding SMS text messaging system? I don’t have much idea of its different applications. I want to know how to manage and customize its applications to be used in our different workflows.

Short message service also known as SMS, texting or text messaging. This kind of service grant text messages sent from someone's cell phone to another's cell phone or from the web to another phone.
Short Message service can only have 160 characters including spaces. It uses T9 predictive technology which makes better, proficient and faster text messaging. Some of its features are MMS or Multi Media Message which is used to send or received images, mp3's or videos. SMS is used around the globe to be able to communicate with friends and loved ones.

The SMS text messaging system is a service component that can be used on a mobile phone and other mobile communication systems and even the internet. It uses a standardized protocol which allows short messages to be exchanged between the mobile phone devices or a fixed line.
The SMS service uses the GSM communication series or otherwise called the Global system for mobile communications protocol in sending messages which can be of up to 160 characters from one mobile handset to another.
Some technologies that support the SMS service includes the ANSI CDMA networks as well as the Digital AMPS.
