SDk is set of tools (including API, frameworks, interface elements) that used for create softwares.(ex:-software packages,software framework, hardware platform, computer system, video game console, operating system, or similar platform.)

 
Developers who make applications for the iPhone and iPod  Touch need SDK
 
Steve Jobs released SDK to third party developers on March 6, 2008.

SDK,  a (Software development kit), its typically a set of different tools that allows for the creation of the applications for certain software package, software frame work, hardware platform, computer system, video game console, operating system or similar platform.  To allow engineers to  write their own application programme.

Typically SDK includes one or more API's programming tools and documentation. In short,  a programming package that  enables a programmer to enables to develop applications for specific platform.
