Hi,

To detect any unwanted application or spyware, using the ‘Activity Monitor’ may help you. To initialize this application just enter into the ‘Utilities’ option of ‘Application’ where ‘Activity Monitor’ will be found. This will show you the list of running applications on your pc.

You may also scan your full pc through MacScan.

Dear Heather Carr,

All of the problems you said may lead to a spy ware, this is very dangerous so you should install antivirus software on your mac and begin to make a full scan on your system, then you should make another type of scan called boot scan when you are starting your system, finally check with online Symantec computer resistance against spyware on the following link called system security check.
