Hi,

This issue is due to improper installation of DVD ROM or the jumper settings which are not properly set. To resolve this kind of issue, check the power connector of DVD ROM and make sure it is properly connected to the DVD ROM.

Also check the jumper setting of DVD ROM.

If this issue is not resolved, use another DVD ROM, to resolve the issue.

Select jumper setting SLAVE.

Thank you, hope it helps.

You DVD drive may not be getting power or enough power from the power supply. Make sure that the power cables going to the optical drive is seated properly. Also make sure that the cable you're using is working. You might want to try a different cable, one that has been known to work.

You IDE or SATA cable connected to the optical drive may be bad or not seated properly as well. Make sure it is connected properly. Try reseating the cable or use a cable that has been working. The computer's AutoRun feature might be off on your system. After you insert the DVD or the CD, go to My Computer and check if the DVD drive is there. Open it and see if it is able to read the contents of the DVD/CD.
