I want to get a wireless adaptor which I can use for several other devices. The sony wireless adaptor seems to be working exclusively on Sony products only. What are other sony wireless adaptor alternatives that can work with any DVD player?

The Sony adapter connects to the USB port and it is the only one that will work with that port so you cannot connect any other adapter from other parties like Samsung, HP, etc.

If you want to connect serveral devices, then the best way to do this is to use a standalone Wireless Ethernet adapter/bridge that can be configured to connect across several devices. You can also use Routers with firmware installed, Configured as Wireless Ehternet Bridge or Adapter.
