Yesterday we some friends worked in my friend's computer approximately four hours. Then I turned of the computer properly. But today when I tried to turn on the computer in the monitor a message was showing "ntldr file missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart the computer" I pressed that  button for three times but no solution.

I think I may need setup the windows XP. If I want to get back our document from my document what I have to do now?

Basically, in ‘ntldr’ nt stands for windows NT operating system and ldr stands for Loader. The ntldr is nothing but the boot loading file of your operating system. When you insert the bootable CD/DVD into your drive then it starts detecting the ntldr file in the boot sector portion of the disk.

If your system BIOS is out of date then you will have to face error messages like ntldr file is missing or damaged. The ntldr file supports to all non NT operating systems booting process also. This file has been detected through ntdetect.com file and perform booting with boot.ini file.

Hello Akidy,

Yes you will need to re install windows. I have a way to re install windows in such a way that you can still access your documents into your my documents.

While installing windows you will have an option to re-install windows by just deleting your current "Windows" folder and that option will only re-install windows folder. The "Documents and Settings folder" will remain as it is. Once you re-install windows you can find your User folder into your Documents and Settings folder and there you can find all your files in the "My Documents" folder.

Note that while re-installing you do not install a fresh copy. Choose install windows on previous version option and confirm it using "Press L" when asked for.

This will solve your problem.
