I am working with a large amount of data on individual worksheets and I understand that the Freeze panes Option will help me to keep a section visible while scrolling through the rest. Is this correct? How do I Freeze panes? How would I revert this functionality later? Is there any risk of losing data?
What is the Freeze Panes functionality used for in excel?
The freeze panes option is used to lock a row or column when you're scrolling through the page. It's very helpful specially when you are working on a long list of entries and you wanted to keep the categories visible.
On the View tab, in the Window group, click the Freeze Panes.
if you want to lock rows, select the row or rows that you want to freeze when you scroll.
if you want to lock columns, select the column or columns that you want to freeze when you scroll.
