I have got zeroshell and it is working well for me. Nice effort but now there is a problem with dens update. As I have tried to change the firewall setting and set the output chain but nothing works. Am I supposed to do something else to allow opendns updater connect to host? Please solve my problem

1. Check who is initializing connection to opendns. If zeroshell is, add an allow rule for the output chain. If a remote PC on the LAN is, enable the allow rule for the forward chain.

2. Run

iptables -L -v
iptables -t nat -L -v

If there are several DROPs on the outputted chain, try changing the policy to allow for all chains. Also try fine tuning your firewall.

3. A file with a bug as this question has no definite answer.

How did you change your firewall setting? In order to check whether the problem is on your firewall, I suggest you temporarily set the OUTPUT and INPUT chains to accept all packages. If you still get the same error, it means the problem is not with the settings of the firewall. It's most likely caused by a bug in the software. You should file a bug report to zeroshell.net.

Hello,

Without wasting time, please follow the simple step below:

1. Uninstall any previous zero shall software in your system.

2. Install new software while logged in as an administrator.

3. Accept any firewall warnings allowing remote I.P detection.

Note, window services can run under non privileged user. Hope this information will help you to solve your problem.

Thanks.
