It is the category of file extensions that contains some common and some time used files those are associated or used by the Microsoft Office and of the applications. Here users became popular with the some common file extensions  of Microsoft Office. In office suite 2007 three are most common due to release of the Office 2007. It was trying to replace with the XML-based format having file extensions of four letters. MS documents are saved by a new format XML since 2007. It has new extensions which differentiate documents of these file format to the old Office versions.  Some extensions for documents which are created in the Word 2007 are using formats of file like append the letter “x” and is .docx etc. One another change is there are macro-enabled versus to be macro-free. Extensions which had introduced in Office 2007 are still used in the MS 2010. You can also concern it.  www.file-extensions.org

Microsoft word 2007 is new package program of Microsoft office. It is very latest version of Microsoft office package program. there are some use problem for user because this version is not supportable to any old version of Microsoft word package program.

The file extension for Word 2007 document is "docx" it is different from the old "doc" . Word 2007 saves the file under the xml format, and old versions of Microsoft word like word 2000, word 2003, word XP not support this kind of file format. So if you face this problem you need to convert this file to old extension “doc” in order to be able to read it.. …

Also there are compatibility pack available that can be installed.

hi, the file extension for Word 2007 document is "docx" which is different from the old file extension "doc" and the in that , when Word 2007 saves the file after you being working on it,  will save it under the xml format, that where we get the x in the name of the new file extension and this kind of file is not supported in old versions of Word, this issue has widely reported, and it is actually the case for word 2003 , so if you get through  this problem you will need to convert the file with docx to the doc extension in order to be able to read it with word 2003.

hope this helps

thanks!!
