Hey friends will you please help me to repair my laptop. It’s an HP G71 with windows 7.

Last day it started giving me error message that.

BOOTMGR is missing

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.

I have a lot of pictures on it that I like to save. Therefore I do not want to go to factory restore option.

So anyone here has any idea how to resolve this?

The “BOOTMGR is missing” error displays shortly after the computer is turned on. The reasons for this might be corrupted or mis-configured files, hard drive or operating system upgrade issues. Outdated BIOS may also be a reason for this. Another reason might be if you are trying to boot from some flash drive that is not properly configured to boot from.

Insert your windows cd and restart your system.

Perform a startup repair of windows. This will replace any missing or corrupt file on your system including BOOTMGR.

If there is more than one error then it might run a repair again.

Reboot your system and you are done with the error.

Also check your floppy and optional disks for media. As I said that this error often appears if your PC is trying to boot from a non-bootable source. If this is the reason then you will have to change the boot order in BIOS so that hard drive will be the first boot device.

Also make sure that hard drive and other drive settings are correct in BIOS because BIOS configuration tells the computer how to use a drive. So incorrect settings can cause problems including the error you are facing.
