Hi,

NIC is nothing but network interface card which is a peripheral device and the function of it is to connect to a networking mode. The networking mode can be in different ways it could be in the form of Intranet or Internet. In simple terms the network interface card is known as Ethernet card.

The NIC cards comes in different shapes and sizes depending on the manufacture . The Ethernet card is mounted on the Motherboard you can even assemble the NIC card separately .The most common types of Ethernet cards are :

  • PCI 10/100 Ethernet card for desktops
  • PCMCIA 10/100 Ethernet for laptops

As you have problem connecting to your NIC card check your NIC card whether can you see any light blinking . If you light is blinking it means your Card is in good connection and you have change the network and connection settings in your system if your CARD is not blinking when you insert the network cable then you have you replace the Ethernet card.

Hi,

NIC means Network Interface Card. It is a device that is used to connect through LAN (Local Area Network), MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network) etc. it is a port where we connect Internet cable such as broadband cable, two state prayer cables, co-axial cable or other network interface.

Mostly every motherboard has this device as built in function. You need to install extra driver software for it also. Windows XP and most of the other OS install this driver automatically. But also you may need LAN card driver software for run this NIC card properly.

There are two type of NIC card internal NIC card or external NIC card. Internal one is built in with motherboard and external will set in PCI port. So whatever you using just install it properly.
