I have a Dell Inspiron which is powered by i5 and 8GB RAM. I'm facing a problem with my laptop. Whenever I press the power button, a blue light glows as usual on the keyboard but the screen shows the 'Operating System Not Found' error. How can I fix this error on my laptop?

OS not found is mostly due to the missing or deactivated partition or your OS hasn't founded in your hard drive.

To fix this First of all find your operating system DVD or bootable flash drive and attach it to your system.

Restart your system press F12, or delete key on startup to enter into the BIOS setup.

Below install button click on 'Repair your Computer' button

After than Open 'Command Prompt' (CMD) and type "diskpart" and then write "list volume"

All the hard drives/ partition will show there select your system partition in which your Window is installed.

Then type 'Select volume #' (system volume C) on CMD or type the number e.g. 'Select Volume 2'

After this, type 'Activate'

Your operating system will be activated. Type 'exit' to close diskpart and again type 'exit' to leave.

Restart your laptop and you will not find the message again.
Am sure it will work.

This problem can happen for different reasons. One is if the boot sector of the hard drive gets damaged or corrupted. The boot sector is the area or part of the drive that contains machine code designed to be loaded to the RAM or the random access memory by the operating system. If this part is damaged, you will not be able to boot your computer.

Another reason is if one or more system files used by the operating system are damaged, corrupted, or missing. You may also get this error if an external drive is connected to the computer when the machine boots. If you receive this error when you start your computer, first, check if a USB flash drive or external hard drive is connected to one of the USB ports.

If there is one connected, remove it from the port and start the computer again. If you don’t see any USB device, check your optical drive if there is a disc inside. If your optical drive has a disc inside when you start the computer, the machine will try to boot the system from the disc. If the disc is not bootable then you will receive this error.

Remove the disc from the optical drive and restart the computer. This should fix the problem.
