In the normal scenario, the difference between hardware and software is that hardware refers to everything that can be touched or held by your hands; on the contrary software is the opposite, it cannot be touched. The hardware I am saying when it comes to computers, are those physical interconnections and devices required to store and execute (or run) the software. While I am referring computer software to those entire computer programs which concerns on the operation of the data processing system.

The parts of the computer considered as computer hardware includes the monitor, modem, system unit like the central processing unit (CPU) and the random access memory (RAM). Those hardware that is not part of the system unit are called peripheral devices like the mouse, speaker, printer and keyboards.

Types of software’s are the system software, programming software and application software. System software is design to operate functionality of computer hardware. Programming software is used to create, debug, maintain or support other programs and application. Application software is a set of programs that allows the computer to perform a specific data processing job for the user.
