I am planning to buy a new set of desktop computer that will be used for my work. My senior supervisor wants me to use Ubuntu because it is the common OS used by our company. But when I checked for reviews and comments, Ubuntu has lot of bug and it needs a fix very badly. With regards to Linux Mint, I have very little information about it. I’m really confused on what OS I must use.

Thanks for the help!

Sometimes it's really confusing, but the truth of the matter is that, Linux mint is Ubuntu based. They are actually similar but Linux Mint has differentiated itself from Ubuntu by customizing its desktop with a custom main menu. Let's just say that Linux Mint has been an upgrade of Ubuntu as based on the demands and whims of the users. To say it plainly, it was upgraded to become more user friendly and appealing to the user. As to choose which of the two, it's still up to you. But since Ubuntu is the common OS used in your company, it is a lot easier to use it also so that you will have no compatibility issues with other computers in your company.
