What is the difference between intel core i3 and core i5 and which one is better? Take a case of  i5-661 which is a dual core processor with a clock speed of 3.33 Ghz and a  i3-560 which is also a dual core of 3.33Ghz yet a lot cheaper?

Hey Mustifire!

Let me explain you the difference between core i3 and core i5. Basically when you have more cores, your system can serve more tasks at a time. In the core series, the lowest core is core i3 with two cores. It means that all core i3 are dual cores.

Now the question is which one is best for us and which one we should bought? The answer of this question depends on our needs. Suppose you like gaming and love to play games in laptop, then you must have an excellent machine with latest VGA card to play all the games. That would be core i5. And you just want to use it for watching movies, surfing on internet and playing small games, then core i3 is enough for you.

Hope you understand.

Thanks

I want to add that the Intel Series i3 are dual core processors having hyper-threaded technology that enables them to become virtually quad core processors. On the other hand i5 processors are standard quad core that lacks hyper-threading.
