What is the best USB serial RS232 adapter?

My Lenovo ThinkPad is running Windows 8 32-bit OS. I have to connect a micro-controller module into it with RS232 connector but it doesn't have any ports for connecting it. I am looking for a USB serial adapter that will work for my OS and I want to know where I can purchase it. What can you recommend the best USB serial adapter for my Lenovo ThinkPad?

Hello there,

The first things that you need to keep in mind before buying any USB serial adapter are:-

1. The output power should at least 5.0VDC.

2. ZyWyn and Maxin are the best adapters right now.

3. Avoid those USB serial adapters which are low in cost.

I have googled and lot and the top recommended USB to Serial RS232 Adapter is Startech.com 1 Port FTDI USB to Serial RS232 adapter.
