My laptop is acting weird at the moment. It is constantly losing same saved data. I need to download MS-dos data backup tools on my PC since I don't want my saved files lost. I have MS-DOS 6.0 and can you tell me why my PC is not saving some files too?

I have encountered a problem like yours one year ago. In fact, for me the trouble was with loosing files without any warning even after saving. I used a program called "Active File Recovery" to solve the problem and it works perfectly. Recuperating data as a result of having been inadvertently lost by deleting, formatting, etc., includes a tool which recovers the registry (on FAT32, NTFS file systems…)
