Hi guys,

I would like to know more about cloud computing. What are the disadvantages in adopting cloud computing? Is there a difference between cloud computing and regular hosting wherein a customer has paid a fixed amount of storage and bandwidth monthly?

Looking for valuable replies.

Hi Josiemelissaa,

Find below the answer to your question:

Cloud computing is simply concerned with the use of computing hard wares, soft wares, applications that are issued as a service via a network, especially the internet. Here are the disadvantages of cloud computing:

Getting customer service when needed can be very difficult some times.

Cloud computing can be inflexible. You may not be able to insert a document created in another application. Thus, you may end up restricting your business to using their applications and formats.

Cloud computing makes your small business to depend on the stability of your Internet connection. Therefore, when it is offline, your business is also offline.

You must be security conscious when using cloud computing, especially in the area of using cloud computing applications to store sensitive and vital data on the internet.

The difference between cloud computing and regular hosting is not always clear. However, the former differs from the later because it gives you the advantage of multiple servers that often work together as one, while the later gives you a fixed server or its portion.

I hope I have answered your question.
