Hi solspecialist Active Directory is a directory service that is offered by Microsoft and it uses number of standard protocols for providing variety of network servicesthat includes the Lightweight Directory Access ProtocolLDAP also the industry standard directory access protocol that is very much compatible to be used with many management applications. Active Directory also supports the LDAPv3 and LDAPv2.The Active directories Features includes Central location setup of network administration and security with Information security single sign on for giving user access to the networked resources. It is also having the ability to scale up and down it also provides Standard access to application data with Synchronizing directory updates across servers. Active Directory also stores information settings for a deployment in centralized database. Active Directory allows administrator to implement policies updating of the software

Hi,

An active directory is a directory structure which is used on Microsoft Windows based computer systems. Mainly these services used for the network manage. That means, you can manage all network user computer as what you want. Like you want that computer three can not go internet but can use intranet. Also print sharing, Mail service etc. 

An Active Directory does a variety of uses including the ability to provide information; helps organize easy retrieval and access by administrator to set security up for the directory and network.

An active directory can be defined as a hierarchical structure. It’s usually functions of the Domain and Network.
