Sound recorder that comes with windows is not that healthy in features. It only gives you the option to record and nothing else.

  • You can't do editing to your recordings.
  • You can't split them.
  • You can't define the exit and entry points yourself.
  • Sometimes it records as hell and there is a lot of other noises that are there with it.

On the other hand if you use sound forge:

  • You get the edit it in whatever way you want it to.
  • You can do random splits from anywhere you want within the audio.
  • You can merge 2 audio files to form one.
  • You have a lot of options to convert your audio into.

Bottom line is that Sound forge is rich in features and gives more optimization than the built in sound recorder.

So better replace it.

Use the imtoo converter in windows.
