Hey Dena,

The steps to set your laptop to be able to show when your battery is low is very simple and precise. First visit the control panel in your laptop. Then select the power option. Next Step is to click the Alarms icon and the Low battery alarm and also the critical battery alarm will appear. Her you can specify the type of settings that you like just by dragging the slider present. Next you click the Alarm action tab this will allow you to select the type of power alarm and also at what power level of your laptop you will need it to warn you.

Thanks

I don’t think you still need to set the alarm for your laptop when the battery or the power gets low. It is already set to a default setting which will send off an alarm once the current power reaches the level specified in the settings. This is done when the operating system was installed or when Microsoft Windows was installed on your laptop.

In my sister’s laptop, the system will send off an alarm when the battery level reaches or goes down to 10 percent [10%]. This is the low battery alarm. Another alarm will be sent off when the battery level goes down to 3 percent [3%]. This is the critical battery alarm. In the first alarm, the laptop is still operational and you can still continue your work.

But when the system sends the second alarm, you really need to end whatever it is you are doing because the machine will automatically go to standby mode. When the system gives off the first alarm, you will hear a sound and a message is displayed. In the second alarm, you will no longer hear a sound and only a message is displayed and then goes to standby mode.

If you want to change the settings, click Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, and then Power Options. In Power Options Properties window, select Alarms tab. Click Alarm Action on each category to change the notification action when sending off the alarm. Click OK when you are finished.
